| I'll be using DA as a place to share my personal work, collaborations and the like. If you want to see my client work for both illustration and motion graphics please feel free to peruse my personal web site. Thanks for stopping by! ------ My name is Christopher Lee and I am a multi-disciplinary designer and illustrator who works under the moniker The Beast is Back. I'm a Sacramento native and a graduate from Sacramento State University with a BS degree in graphic design. My entire life has revolved around drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil. Speaking of pencils... The way I hold my pencil has often been referred to as “the claw”. My favorite quote comes from Picasso as he states "Art washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life" nicely sums up my personal philosophy. In July of 2006, I moved to Southern California in search of new inspiration and surroundings. Since then I've worked as an Art Director for the Sacramento grown street and skate culture magazine Vapors and from there switched gears and was recruited to the motion graphics studio, Buck, where I also worked as an Art Director. In October of 2009, I said goodbye to Buck and decided to go rogue. I currently reside in Van Nuys and work as a full-time freelance illustrator for a variety of clientele including Target, Hasbro/Playskool, Nike, Absolut, Honda, and Adobe. In addition to my freelance work, my girlfriend and I continue to work on our growing greeting card and home decor brand The Birds & The Beasts. |
